Current Affairs Competition

Competition Update: The Current Affairs Competition is currently being redesigned. Project Firefly and the Academic Review Board are working together on developing creative ways of building thought leadership.

Meanwhile, you are still welcome to submit essays and blogs on the current affairs topics from economy, business and politics. They will continue to be reviewed by the Academic Review Board and Project Firefly’s editorial team and might be published on our website as a blog-post. Please reach out to us via info@project-firefly.com if you wish to submit a blog on certain topics.

Follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn or on our website to learn about the launch of the updated version of the Current Affairs Competition!

This is Project Firefly’s monthly competition, where submissions (800 - 1500 words) are recognised on a rolling basis, and you have the opportunity to contribute to thought leadership issues.
Why not innovate? Submit a video (max. 5 min) and take advantage of sharing your messages in different ways!

The Academic Review Board (ARB) will review your submissions throughout the month so that we can publish your work as early as possible. You can share your insights on a broad range of topics:

  • Business
  • Politics
  • Diplomacy
  • Economics
  • Geo-Strategic Events
  • International Affairs

Suggested Topic

Thank you for your entries to the March Competition. Your submissions are now under review.

As with every month, you are welcome to submit on other topics that fit within the above-mentioned categories.

Deadline for submissions is 23:59 of the last time zone on the last day of the month (UTC-12).

Prizes

This is your chance to be creative and share your interpretation of global developments with the community! Winning submissions will receive 1'000 Swiss Francs

We strongly encourage you to engage in discussions on Project Firefly’s Facebook page and website.

Whether your style is recognizably witty, enthusiastic or raw, share it with your community and give them a chance to develop a stronger connection with you. Don't miss your chance to be published by world-class academics!

Hey Sir, I was wondering if there will be specific topics released for the July competition or we could submit essays on topic of our own preference. Thank you!

Yes, you can do that, however the ARB recommends usually to focus on one topic and try to craft as good a submission as possible.

Hello, I just registered and was really excited to read about the 'current affairs competition' only to find that it looks quite dead. There are no posts later than 2015. Am I missing something or is the competition still open? Regards
